Lingerie so beautiful it should be seen. That’s the motto of designer Delphine Veron, commonly known as Fifi Chachnil, who creates exquisite pieces that celebrate the sexiness of every woman. She started the luxury lingerie label in 1996 with a mission of introducing women to a world sensual and frivolous beauty.
“I said to myself that tulle, lace, and other luxuries could be worn as undergarments,” she recalls of her initial inspiration. “…My main goal is to make women happy, and only afterwards, the man who watches her.”
Recognized as a leading Parisian lingerie label, Fifi Chachnil’s coquettish designs draw on vintage silhouettes and are made with the many different shapes of the woman’s body in mind. “There is so much variety among women,” she says.
“I like the eras where femininity is really highlighted – 1920s, 1930s, don’t interest me at all,” Chachnil continues, referring to how breasts and butts were flattened. Instead, she prefers to the ‘40s and ‘50s when women’s figures were accentuated.
Today, Fifi Chachnil has collections of ready-to-wear, lingerie, swimwear, accessories, and fragrance, with boutiques in Paris and London.
“I have the impression that I create more for women in a society that has pushed eroticism to such an extreme that it no longer exists,” she says.
